Plum fruits being dried under the Sun 2020

The season for plum fruits being dried has come this year. Wakayama is well known as a producing place for its delicious pickled plums (called Umeboshi in Japanese). Beautifully bloomed in late February, harvested in June, and now it’s time to process them into umeboshi. Plum fruits are sun-dried under the strong sunshine. This process is very important in order to produce high-quality umeboshi.
