We will show yo around Wakayama City by walking through historic Wakayama Castle Park and its castle town which has more than 400 year history. The tour gives you not only the historical facts of the city but also up close every day life of the local people. We’re prepared to show you Japanese culture over all in this tour.
We will spend half of the tour walking around historic Wakayama Castle, which was built in 1585 by Toyotomi Hidenaga, who was the brother of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who unified the country after the long Japan Civil War period. We will walk up to the Castle Tower ground and enjoy the spectacular closeup view of the castle. For the other half of the tour, we’ll walk through the castle town showing you the life of the local people.
Wakayama is well known for its awesome ramen noodle. If you’d like to try a bowl after the tour, we can definitely recommend you the best place nearby!

- 9:30-10:30 / 13:30-14:30 Historic Wakayama Castle Walking (not entering inside the castle)
- 10:30-11:30 / 14:30-15:30 Wakayama Castle Town (Downtown Wakayama area) Walking
The total walking distance is approximately 3 km (2 miles). Some uphills to the castle tower ground.
