Wakayama is well know as producing place for its delicious pickled plums (called umeboshi in Japanese). Beautifully bloomed in late February, harvested in June and now it’s time to process them. If you visit southern part of Wakayama prefecture such as Minabe or Tanabe area this time of the year, you can see processed salted plum fruits are sun dried. Come visit Wakayama to enjoy plums!!
